1. Information about the item you want to sell in a Word document. It should include:

  • Artist(s) name:
  • Product name:
  • Price (in £ GBP):
  • Medium/Paper: Archival acid-free paper / Wood / Porcelain / Or?
  • Print effects: Giclée print / Risoprint / Screenprint / Oil paint / Or?
  • Edition: Limited/Numbered/Signed
  • Size: W x H, or L x B x H, cm/inches
  • Delivery details: Flat-packed, in-a-box, or tube-rolled
  • Description (in less than 100 words):
  • Blemish / Defect (if any):

 

2. Photographs of the item (as JPGs, or PNGs in minimum size of 1024 x 1024 px @ 72 dpi). Ideally a few of them covering these angles:

  • Front / Side / Back / Top shot
  • Angle shot
  • Close-up shot
  • Edition number (if any)
  • Artist signature (if any)
  • Packaging (if any)
  • Blemish / Defect (if any)

3. Your contact information (in a Word document) so that we can follow up with you:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Address / Country
  • Contact number



4. Consolidate all the images, descriptions and your contact details into a folder with your name, and upload to either of the following:

FAQ

Q: If I submit my artwork to Illustrious World, can I also sell it elsewhere?
A: Sure you can. As long as you notify us if you'd sold the artwork/print, or if there is no more stock available.

Q: Do I have to send you my artwork?
A: No. Our remote consignment model allows for your artwork to remain in your possession until it sells, and as a result, additional costs including shipping, insurance and storage are removed from our selling process. It is your responsibility to ship the artwork including appropriate/safe packaging and insurance to the buyer.

Q: How quickly can work(s) from my collection be sold?
A: As soon as we received your all the information and images of your artwork, we'll assess them. Usually it'll take less than 10 business day, and if we like to feature your artwork/product(s), we'll upload them onto our system and we'll inform you when it goes live. Length of sales time vary, depending on the traffic coming onto our website and on the popularity of the artwork/artist.

Q: What if I don't have a photo of the artwork?
A: Seeing an image of your submission is an essential part of the selling process. Unfortunately we cannot post the item on sale without images. However, if you are having difficulty uploading the images, we will be happy to assist you. Please contact us at: sell@illustrious.world

Q: I just emailed you with a link to download the information and images of the artwork that I'm selling, when can I expect a reply?
A: Upon receiving images and details of your work, we will carefully assess each item and respond to you within ten business days.

Q: How much money will I make?
A: It varies based on the value of the artwork, but our average vendor's commission is 20%, which means you can earn up to 80% of the published price, one of the most competitive terms in the industry. (Our remote consignment model allows for your artwork to remain in your possession until it sells, and as a result, we would advise the additional costs including shipping, insurance and storage are already included in the selling price. It is your responsibility to ship the artwork including appropriate/safe packaging and insurance to the buyer). Should there be any additional fees, which is rare, we will deduct the costs from sale proceeds.

Q: How do I price my artwork?
A: It can be based on price of the artwork on the current market, if they are available. If it is a sold-out or one-off piece, the price can be based on market research and previous records of comparable pieces, or simply down to how much you would like to sell it for. Additionally, condition and provenance, rarity or the history of your artwork, can also determine the value of the artwork. 

Q: Can I change the price of my artwork?
A: Yes. However, we kindly ask that you do not change your mind too often, as it takes time on our side to make those changes.

Q: Do I have to arrange shipping?
A: After the sale, you will have to arrange the shipping if the artwork is with you. If the artwork is with us, we'll ship it off directly to the buyer.

Q: Do I have to deal with the buyer? What if I like to remain anonymous to the buyer?
A: After the sale, if the artwork is with you, we can arrange for the artwork to be sent to the buye., however, there may be an extra charge for the seller which we will let you know beforehand. If the artwork is with us, we'll ship it off directly to the buyer

Q: When do I get paid?
A: After the sale, and once the payment has been received by Illustrious Art, we will pay net sale proceeds (the published price minus the vendor's commission and any extra shipping/insurance expenses) to the seller within 30 business days of payment being received. This is to ensure that the buyer receives the artwork and is pleased with the condition of the item.
