DESCRIPTION/ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
This print is based on French anatomist Honore Fragonard’s flayed goat taxidermy – at that time, I re-watched Hayao Miyasaki’s “Princess Mononoke”, I remembered disliking the film as a child and it was the first time I saw it as an adult. I was very drawn to the scene of the decapitation of the forest god – the greedy antagonist believed the head of the forest god would grant her immortality. In that scene, the innards of the forest god became big black worms, devouring and rotting it’s environment.
